Oh boy! It’s like carrying a bowling ball!

Posted by: BabyNico  /  Category: Mommy Life

I was “busy” the whole day. I started the day with my laundry and my back hurt washing those clothes! Then I prepared for church since I’ll be attending the service at 10AM.

As I was making my way towards the gate, I can feel myself slumping as if the ground is pulling me down. I stopped walking and tried to straighten my back but then I seem to find that task impossible to accomplish! Oh no! I’m still so young for osteoporosis, I groaned to myself. I tried to “carry” Little Nicholas by my two hands and tried straightening my back again and it worked! Shucks! Little Nicholas is getting real heavy these days. I felt like carrying a bowling ball!

I was thinking about that while riding a tricycle on my way to the church. I think I really have to follow doctor’s order to purchase a maternity support belt or else I’ll find it difficult to walk one of these days. Sigh!

So after the worship service, I went to the mall and looked for a support belt. Luckily, I found one that costs just about $5. After paying for it, I made my way to the comfort room and put the belt on as I was planning to have my weekly grocery as well. I just remembered I’m out of stock — no milk, no oatmeal, no water, no food, no toiletries! I definitely have to do my buying!

Walking around the grocery store, Little Nicholas is still heavy but the belt is supporting him nevertheless. The only problem is that my little angel doesn’t seem to like the whole idea. He kept on kicking and kicking till I have to stop in a corner and talk to him because it really hurts. He seemed to understand and took pity on Mommy so he calmed down.

What a day! I’m glad I’m home. Whew!

Mommy Joined Parenting.Com!

So it’s Mommy’s turn to join other Mommy communities as well huh? Little Nicholas just joined a baby community a while ago (I guess Mommy got envious, hahaha!).

I surfed the net for great stuffs and found the home of parenting & babytalk. Yep, I’m talking about Parenting.Com. The site is really cool! It only took me a few seconds to navigate until I decided to join. As a Parenting.com member I can now enter the site’s contest and even have the right for their giveaways. I also signed-up for the site’s weekly e-newsletters. I also have the privilege to access my personal pregnancy planner and track Little Nicholas’ development and one great plus is I can chat with Moms like me on the site’s message boards. Exciting!

Not only that, I can now access the tools at the left! Cool tools! Let’s see, a Child Symptom Checker, I gotta give that a try! Then there’s a Guide Tool for Ages and Stages combined. Hmmm.. they also have these free stuffs, parenting privileges and so much more! Did I say the site is cool?

So my first stop was my Pregnancy Update. Of course I have to check what’s the site’s say about my current state. So they divided this information into different categories — Your Baby, Your Body, Dos and Don’ts, Health, Mom to Mom, Shopping, Exercise, Relationships, etc. Not bad huh! Very informative!

Great articles too! These articles are listed under different categories such as Health & Fitness, Work & Family, Relationships, Beauty & Style, and Relax & Recharge. Awesome! I am currently finishing 21 Ways to Enjoy Being a Mom and I’ll be reading some more! And then I’ll go into the site’s most popular articles entitled Strange But True Pregnancy Tales, Pregnancy Dos and Dont’s, Ick! What’s That and so much more! This site is definitely great for expecting Moms like me. Check it out too! You’ll love the membership! See you there…

Little Nicholas Joined Babies Online!

Posted by: BabyNico  /  Category: Baby Sites, Baby Stuff

Mommy decided to make Little Nicholas an affiliate of a great baby site, Babies Online. This morning, Mommy finally had the time to do so, she signed up for membership and whoa! The site automatically made Little Nicholas a member by simply keying-in his expected birthday and Mommy’s email-address. Yes, as easy as that. The website then sent Mommy her log-in information so Little Nicholas can start surfing the site.

The welcome page was great! It gave Mommy tons of information already such as conception information, telling me that Little Nicholas was most likely “made” last March 20, 2008 (hmmmm… that’s a bit close, 2 days short though, hahaha!), and that Mommy’s in Week 33 but baby is still 31 weeks old. So that’s 229 days down and 51 days more to go! Whew! It also gave Little Nicholas’ Fun birthday facts like his birthstone: Turquoise for prosperity (I was glowing with happiness when I knew that, was it just a coincidence that I designed Little Nicholas’ blog with turquoise in the background?); that my angel will be a Sagittarian, with his month’s flower as Narcissus or Holly (indigo, green or greenish blue, wow! Mommy’s favorite colors!), and many more information! The welcome page also presented some interesting pages like the site’s Pregnancy Calendar, its Free (yes, free, gotta check that one out) Pregnancy Alert Wristband, Breastfeeding Support kit, Child safety ID kit, samples and coupons and more! It also has its Baby Names Database and Pregnancy Blogs.

Mommy then set-up Little Nicholas’ page and taadaah! His journal is ready! Now Little Nicholas’ Babies Online Page is up and running! Great work Mom!

A Pregnancy, Parenting, and Family Planning Community and Resources Site

I came across the site at the time I was looking for meaning of baby names. I then and then liked the site and hence bookmarked it after seeing that it has all the information that an expecting woman must know; like those that are listed in their most popular categories: Gender Predictor, Pregnancy Calendar, Due Date Calculator, Baby Name Adviser, Baby Horoscopes, even Free Baby Stuffs and so much more!

I registered on the site so I can receive a free weekly newsletter which takes me to my pregnancy updates, articles, quizzes and freebies that correspond to my pregnancy state. I was so happy to read every development that my Little Nicholas have been experiencing week after week.

I was even provided my very own page where I can photos and to-do lists, access my pregnancy calendar, my pregnancy journal and everything that matters! Wow! Was I amazed! And I’m sure my Little Nicholas is very happy too that Mommy found this website for both of us. It means Mommy is preparing for her little angel, right?

Little Nicholas is Blogging!

Posted by: BabyNico  /  Category: Baby Life, Mommy Life

Finally, I found the time to start my Little Nicholas’ first blog ever! I have been planning to publish this site two weeks ago but Mommy have been very very very busy lately, right baby?

Now that Mommy and Little Nicholas found a new nest, cleaned it up, and purchased almost everything that will at least make living in that nest comfortable, we have a ‘little’ time spare (sigh, Mommy’s still working in the office) for this blog.

Now Mommy’s really excited! Actually I have been trying to design (and program through ASP.NET) my Little Nicholas’ blogsite at home. The problem is that we don’t have the internet connection yet, so I’m still working offline and it’s quite difficult since I need to find images for the design.

Anyways, I’ve decided to published my Little Nicholas’ blog post and here it is! Just a little introduction of my little angel, his blog and why it must exist in the world wide web.

Ernest Jéan Nicholas, who was conceived and will be born in the year of the rat (which is an alert, quick, ambitious and smart animal). Well, I’m sure my baby won’t get the bad traits of this dirty animal, but he will be very intellectual (babies get their brain abilities from mommies, hahaha!) , that’s an assurance!

Mommy’s 32 weeks and 5 days pregnant today (according to the latest Ultrasound), I’m not really sure when Little Nicholas is coming, either last week of November or first week of December.

So this is my angel’s blog, where everybody can have a chance to be updated (now that makes my angel sound like a celebrity!) of Little Nicholas’ activities, his growth, his colorful life, his first, his smiles, his laughs, his cries, his stuffs, all about him… and of course, Mommy’s wonderful and challenging time as a first-time and a single Mom.

So sit back, enjoy the posts, as well as the pictures, as Mommy and Little Nicholas embrace the world and the real life drama of a breath-taking mother-son journey.
