Happy 2009!
Like everybody else, I fervently hope this year is going to be great, that blessings will pour out and that good health, rational mind and long life will be ours.
Nicholas celebrated his first ever New Year wearing his polka dots suit. Yup, polka dots suit. His Mom is wearing a polka dot blouse as well — so much for Filipino traditions! Hihihi! I’m quite sure our attires will not affect the events that will come in 2009 but we were just trying to be “game” especially with the fact that we will have our pictures taken as a remembrance of my little angel’s first new year’s eve.
So how did Little Nicholas celebrated the coming of 2009? You guessed it right, by sleeping heartily, hahaha! Oh well, what must a 16-day old baby do then? I cannot force my angel to be wide awake at the stroke of midnight so he can join the fun and noise (it’s good that firecrackers are banned in Davao City, at least my baby’s sleep wasn’t disturbed). So I just carried him with me when we had our prayer at 11:45PM and then laid him back to his bed to continue his wonderful New Year’s dreams.
As for me, it was my 28th New Year celebration as I will be 28 on May 2009. I am hoping that the year will be good to me and my baby. My top wish is to find favor in God’s eyes and that He may bless me and my baby and accept our prayers and supplications. Then I prayed for baby Nico’s life and health. Then I wished to be a good mother to Nico. I’m but a first time Mom and a single one at that. I don’t really know how to do this alone but I am hoping that with the guidance of the Lord and my loving parents, I’ll be able to provide all my angel’s needs. Then of course, I wished for my family’s long life and good health, as well as for my friends’ and relatives’.
Ahh! So many things will happen in 2009, this is just the 7th day of yet another 365 days. I wish everything will work out fine. Happy New Year to all!
