Thank God, Little Nicholas is safe!

But Mommy’s not taking any chances…

I already blogged about last Monday’s depressing events about my little angel in danger for infection. Thank God for the good Samaritan who took care of my hospital bills, I was able to take all the required tests last Tuesday.

Sitting by myself on the bench, waiting for my turn in the ultrasound room, many scary and unwanted thoughts came into my mind. I was actually dreading the results, I don’t wanna see my little angel suffering inside my tummy that my doctor will be forced to induce me to give birth.

When the nurse called me inside I again said a little prayer for things to be alright. The smiling ultrasound doctor was very accommodating though. He made me feel relax, I even enjoyed the whole session! Why? Because I saw my baby again! I saw his perfect features when the doctor outlined his face. His nose is very cute, his mouth moving as if he’s sucking some water… ahh! It was heaven!

The doctor told me everything is fine, that the biophysical exam proved that Little Nicholas is fine inside my tummy. I was teary-eyed. I was so happy. I then went down to the laboratory to get my CBC result. I was a little devastated that I am anemic again despite all my Iron supplements but I’m glad that my WBC (white blood) count is normal; thus, no infection.

My OB then explained the ultrasound and CBC results to me. She heaved a sigh of relief knowing that I still have enough amniotic fluid for my little angel and that I have no infection after that little water coming out of me last Saturday. Still she wanted to be sure because she’s quite alarmed with my decreasing hematocrit level. My OB told me a lower hematocrit level means I am iron-deficient and may imply hemorrhage especially on ectopic pregnancies. I was again clutched with fear. My OB told me she’ll have to check me again on Saturday to make sure I am fine and that the baby’s doing fine as well. We cannot take chances, she’ll be forced to induce me to give birth next week if things go wrong.

Sigh… my baby’s somewhat out of infection danger, but there’s another thing that may harm him. Oh God! Please keep my baby safe, I’ll give anything for his safety…
